What's with the name?
The name Simwerks is a deliberate fusion that encapsulates both our core business and our proud Pittsburgh roots.
"Sim": This foundational element is straightforward, standing for "Simulation." It directly communicates our purpose: to provide cutting-edge, high-fidelity experiences in virtual racing and flight.
"Werks": This is where our Pittsburgh identity truly shines. The intentional, slightly archaic spelling of "werks" is a direct nod to the industrial might and craftsmanship that built our city. It evokes:
Steelworks & Factories: The monumental "works" where Pittsburgh's iron and steel were forged, shaped, and engineered, defining an era of American industry.
Precision & Craftsmanship: It suggests a place where things are built with dedication, precision, and an unyielding commitment to quality – much like the engines, aircraft, and industrial machinery once manufactured here.

How did we start?
From Boxes to Immersion: Our Simwerks Origin
Every serious dive into the simulation world begins with a pile of boxes, right? While I'd been tinkering with flight sims since I was about seven, it was in 2020 that I really got serious about recreating that ultimate experience.
Early Cockpit
With that renewed passion, it wasn't long before the entry-level gear just didn't cut it. The pursuit of more realistic feedback and precision quickly led to investing in higher-quality controls. That's when the true depth of simulation really started to unfold.
Peak Dad
As a Dad, simulation had to go further than just my enjoyment. I'm always focused on how can I share my hobbies with my family. As our passion grew, so did the sim pit.
A Real Sim Rig
After years of adding gear to a mixed office/sim set up, I took the plunge and went all in on a Monstertech rig. We repurposed a room for the rig and built a high end system powered by a 4090.
Enjoyment
The thrill of the sim world is incredible and I've enjoyed it fully. The learnings over the last 5 years will bring incredible value to our customers as we know what works and what doesn't.
